What the ASQ Master Black Belt Certification Actually Tests

The ASQ Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt (CSSMBB) is one of the most demanding certifications in operational excellence. It's not a test of whether you can run a DMAIC project — Black Belts do that. The MBB exam tests whether you can lead an organization's entire improvement program: designing training curricula, coaching Black Belts through complex projects, managing a portfolio of initiatives, and aligning process improvement strategy with executive priorities.

The exam consists of 110 questions administered over 5 hours and 20 minutes — roughly 2.9 minutes per question.
